In order to make better use of a viewing space in the Aquatic Mammals
Building, a study was undertaken that determined that a front projection
theater presenting aquatic videos was feasible. The space includes a 16 foot
wide screen, an audio/video room, and aquatic themed displays. Responding to
the zoo's request that the experience be "immersive" overhead photo scrims
were installed with programed back lighting to resemble "swimming" minnows.
The video is played from a BrightSign HD Series player, feeding a Sanyo
projector.
